Good morning folks. The night Owl Soars
The Dynasty of Dirt will be wrapping it up at Slaughter Pen November 6-8. Go to www.fasttrails.org to get all the info
on the event itself. For more info on the Dynasty of Dirt visit www.dynastyofdirt.com and of course www.progressivetraildesign.com will get you to our home and our blog for updates.
First a big thanks to our sponosrs, XTerra Gear, Lewis & Clark, Hugg n' Haul, Graphics By Mike and IN-tents. As well as all the PTD volunteers. This
year was a first for everyone doing the mini-series, but we have had nothing but great comments. We hope we will be able to continue to offer riders more
racing opportunities in the future. Definitely give us your feed back.
Secondly, congraulations to FAST for taking over the helm of the Slaughter Pen. They have worked hard and are stepping up to the plate to bring a full slate of
cool events to AR MTB racing. Eeven a foot race on Sat. morning. More champions are always welcomed. Pay homage and show up and race or spectate.
That said. Here is the laundry list.
RESULTS
Dynasty of Dirt Results have been posted on the Bulletin Board and will be available in a downloadable format at the PTD sight. We will also have them posted
on the blog. Only the top 10 or list of possible competitive riders for the overall are listed for economy's sake. If you have any Q's, drop me an
eamail. drbike@cox.net
Results will be posted at the DOD booth at the Slaughter Pen HQ near the challenge park starting Saturday morning.
TROPHIES & PRIZES
Many classes still have copious room for winners and runner's up. A competitor must compete in at least 2 events in any discepline to qualify for overall
trophies and or prizes. First place prizes are new helmets from Xterra gear and 2-3 are swag from Xterra and Lewis & Clark Outfitters. Thanks to both Jeff
and Rob again for the prizes and all your help. Trophies are going to be something to remember. Many competitors need just show up and race to solidify podium
spots.
EVENTS
XC
The XC will be a classic course. Trails are in great shape thanks to the FAST members. Lots of competition there for overall places but many of the junior and
women classes have lots of room to thicken up. Racing XC on these trails is challenging. Tons of tech and plenty fast.
TRIALS
The trials will be Friday night and looks like fun. The Bentonville square will also be host that night to a TOY extraveganza. Potetnially thousands of folks.
Hope for good weather. Trials under the lights should be cool.
GRAVITY
The original plan for the Freeride Jam was scratched. NO Insurance available. The rain swamped our flow course. Soooooo, now it's 2 MX. (commonly known as
duo-cross). Head to head competition. Qualifiying runs followed by double elimination brackets. Although all 26" riders will compete against each other,
the DOD will be breaking down finishes into the appropriate classes and categories. Again, got any Q's contact me, 479-422-7654 drbike@cox.net.
STXC
Looks like the course is right next to the Challenge park and will be short and fast. Definitely excited about more short track. Will be on the same day as
gravity, so that will be a great spectator line up.
Looking forward to all the new venus. Oh yeah, the 3rd phase of Slaughter Pen trails are sick. Video game like flow. Most dynamic trail in NWA.
Lots of volunteer options this week. IMBA trail crew on Saturday, Pump track and MX course work next week, and overall help needed when ever and where ever.
Hope to see everyone there.
