Big thanks to Mike Mcdonald, Wes Netherton & everyone who volunteered there time to put on the summer crit series (One Hot Night). This is exactly what NWA needs during the slow part of the racing season. I encourage anyone in the area who is new to bike racing to come out and get a taste of criterium racing on a great course. It's a killer workout and you have a chance to learn the ropes (without massive fields) and win a dollar or two. If your a "local legend"...

Arkansas State Road Race - August 3rd

USCF Racers should be getting a flier in the mail soon, but I thought I would get this out ASAP. The website is still being updated, so check back for updates.
The race is Sunday, August 3 in Lincoln, AR. It is a challenging 24-mile loop. The following link also contains a map of the course.
The organizing team is Team Lewis & Clark / Raymond James and Associates.

AR State Criterium in Conway on July 19th

The State Crit will be in Conway on the 19th. I apologize for everything getting done so late but we did have the location locked down until HP gave us the for sure "yes" that they were coming here. I want to thank the promotors, officials, participants, and volunteers for the efforts given to put on this crit series and hope to return next year. We brought down 1-4 people every week from jonesboro, as we could and we enjoyed the competition in spite of a few mishaps.

I encourage everyone to get out and support the local racing scene, as you can, so we can continue to race here in arkansas.

The Tuesday Night Crit. have started in Tulsa, there were 31 racers in the B race and about 20 or so racers in A race. Hope to see more racers from Arkansas in the coming weeks, to make it more exciting.

Hey everyone,
I ride for Metro Volkswagen Cycling Team out of Dallas. I have next week off from school and was wanting to go check out the climbs for Tour of Arkansas. I have done Mt. Nebo (ouch), but never Mt. Magazine. Anyways, I was wandering if there was any possible host housing available with riders in those areas. I might also go ride the Joe Martin loops as well and the TT.
If anyone can put up three or four riders for a few days, that would be awesome. I will let you...

Dogwood RR - Junior races added

We have added junior categories to the Dogwood RR, April 6. We will have a short course (8 miles) for 10-12, 13-14, 15-16. The 17-18 Juniors will ride the long course (53 hilly miles) with the 4/5 group. 15-16 juniors have the option of riding the short course or long course. If a 15-16 junior rides the long course they will ride with the 4/5 group. The short course is fairly easy with some rollers and one harder hill. *Be aware that the long course is not appropriate for inexperienced...

Missing Wheels

A set of Mavic Ksyriums with blue and black Vredsteins were left at the Carve race this past weekend. The wheels were placed in the Cat 1/2/3 wheel truck just prior to the start of the race. The wheel truck volunteers and volunteers who did the tear down did not notice the wheels. Please, if anyone has these wheels or may have information regarding these wheels please let me know. I would like to have them back.

1. Where are the results? Most followed instructions to not come back to the finish, but there was absolutely no posting of the results! What's the point of a race?

2. Cat 1/2/3 field was almost taken out because there was no rolling enclosure. Where was the wheel truck or the lead car for the 60+ riders? Also, major intersection and there is NO corner marshall. Field had to stop themselves, and wait for a car to go by. Since when does a big yellow card me everything...
